Silver Dollar Maidenhair Fern (Adiantum Peruvianum) is a tropical indoor plant featuring large, shimmering silver-green fronds on contrasting dark stems. This slow-growing, moisture-loving fern is valued for its ornamental foliage and unique appearance. It grows successfully in warm, humid indoor spaces, on windowsills with filtered light, or within shaded plant collections.

Silver Dollar Fern Care Guide:

Hardiness zone (USDA zone): Zones 9-11.
Light: Medium to bright indirect sunlight, avoid any direct hot sun as it will quickly burn the delicate fronds, but make sure the plant gets plenty of filtered room light.
Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged or soggy, this fern is highly sensitive to drying out, so water it as soon as the top of the substrate feels slightly damp.
Temperature: Ideal range is between 65°F and 80°F, keep the plant away from cold window drafts, air conditioning vents, and direct heating sources.
Humidity: High humidity is essential, preferably 60% or higher, it thrives near a humidifier, in a moist bioactive vivarium, or placed on a tray with wet pebbles.
Soil: Loose, rich, and well-draining soil mix, a combination of organic peat moss, perlite, and a small amount of charcoal works perfectly to maintain moisture without rotting the roots.
Fertilizer: Feed once a month during the active growing season in spring and summer, use a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer diluted to half of the recommended strength.
