Asplenium Antiquum 'Gioia' is an exotic indoor fern featuring tall, deeply serrated, sharply toothed fronds. The 'Gioia' cultivar is prized for its distinctive geometric frond shape and high tolerance for indoor growing conditions.
Japanese Bird's Nest Fern Care Guide:
Hardiness: Zone (USDA Zone): 10–11.
Light: Prefers bright, indirect light, partial shade, or artificial LED grow lights. Protect the foliage from direct sunlight.
Watering: Water thoroughly when the top 1 in of soil feels dry. Always water around the perimeter, ensuring the center (crown) remains completely dry.
Temperature: Maintain a steady room temperature between 65°F and 75°F. Avoid placing the pot near cold windowsills, radiators, or air conditioners.
Humidity: 50% +. Dry indoor conditions can cause the fronds to harden or become brittle; combat this using a humidifier or a water-filled pebble tray.
Soil: Plant in a highly porous, well-aerated, and slightly acidic mix of peat moss, perlite, fine bark chips, and activated charcoal.
Toxicity: Thoroughly tested and confirmed safe for pets and children.
It is advisable to purchase a heat pack during cold weather: Heat Pack
