Drosera Spatulata "Ivan’s 3-Way Australian" (Spoon-leaved Sundew) is a unique, small carnivorous plant. It forms a beautiful, flat rosette of spoon-shaped leaves with sticky tentacles that trap insects. Under strong light, the entire plant turns a vibrant scarlet red.
This robust three-way hybrid was created by renowned breeder Ivan Snyder by crossing three Australian varieties: D. spatulata from Wentworth Falls (white flowers), D. spatulata var. gympiensis (pink flowers, short hairy peduncles/sepals), and D. spatulata from the Woronora River (pink flowers).
What to expect:
In subsequent generations, the offspring exhibit traits from all three parents in various combinations. Flowers can be white or pink, and the flower stalks vary from short to long and smooth to hairy.

Drosera Spatulata Care Guide:

Hardiness zone (USDA zone): 8-11
Light: Bright, direct, or intense filtered light. Full sun helps the plant maintain its bright red coloration.
Watering: Keep the soil constantly wet. Always use the "tray method" by placing the pot in an inch of pure water (distilled, reverse osmosis, or rainwater only). Never use tap water.
Temperature: Ideal range is 65F to 85F. Can tolerate cooler conditions but protect from freezing drafts.
Humidity: Thrives in high humidity at 50% to 70%. Avoid dry environments to prevent the sticky dew drops from drying out.
Soil: Nutrient-poor, acidic medium. A blend of pure peat moss and perlite or long-fibered sphagnum moss. Never use standard potting soil or fertilizer-loaded mixes.
Fertilizer: Never use commercial fertilizers on the soil. The plant catches small insects for nutrients. You can occasionally drop a tiny bug or a speck of freeze-dried bloodworms on the leaves.
