Shipping and other rules and instructions:
 
Please always check your local weather (we ship from Western NY and monitor our local temperature conditions). If the temperature drops below 35F we strongly recommend to choose a heat pack option. If your local temperature is too high (the snails can be shipped safely at temperatures of 77F to 81F with 86F as critical) we recommend to choose an ice pack option.
 
We ship Mondays and Tuesdays with Priority Mail or Expedited Mail only to ensure quicker and safe delivery. Please make sure you pick up your package from the mail box or your porch, etc. immediately upon arrival - if the temperature drops too low or gets too hot the snails can die.
If you are not able to pick up your snails quickly enough please consider leaving them at your postoffice or with your neighbors, etc. - in any safe environment - until you able to pick them up so they do not experience low/high temperature shock.
We will inform you and consult with you regarding shipment time frame if we consider the the temperature at our locations too low/high.
 
We strip ourselves from any responsibility regarding DOA situations if no proper packaging option is choosen or if the snails were left under extreme ambient conditions, including neglect from the carrier and improper pick up time.
 
Upon arrival:
 
Snails can sometimes enter a state of hibernation or just stay still (rest) for some time after shipping or environment temperature change. So you may assume the snail is dead because it has not moving or show up for some days. Please note, only live snails can create a trapdoor in their shell so it shows the snail is alive. How to gently wake up your snail from hibernation:
 
1. Soak in warm water (most effective). Use room-temperature or slightly warmer distilled or dechlorinated water. Place your snail shell-side up in a shallow dish (just enough to touch the opening — not submerge them). Let it soak for about 10–15 minutes. In most cases snails will start to extend their tentacles and slowly begin to move.
 
2. Gently mist your snail with warm water using a spray bottle (do not use hot water!). This simulates rain and speeds up activity.
 
Please be patient and quiet, leave your snail in a humid, warm enclosure with a bit of fresh food. Do not produce load noises and do not shake the enclosure.
 
The Don'ts:
 
1. Do not pry/poke the snail.
2. Do not use hot water.
3. Do not soak too long.
 
Do not worry if the wake up process takes longer than expected. Snails may take a few days to become active after arrival, so please give them some time and closely observe them. Please promptly contact us if you have any questions and/or doubts. 
 
We take much care and ship healthy snails. In very rare case if your snail arrives dead we offer a refund/replacement if the following conditions are met:
 
If your snail arrived undamaged but looks hibernated, please refer to instructions provided above (soaking, misting, etc.). At the same time a strong foul smell usually confirms death.
If this happens please report within 2 hours time frame upon delivery as we do not accept ANY claims made later than that. Also no coverage for losses due to improper care/handling or unsuitable environment.
Please include clear photo of the snail, its original packaging and the shipping label. Please also include your order number.
If we approve your claim, you can choose either refund or replacement at no extra cost (shipping cost not included).
