Stromanthe Sanguinea  is a perennial herbaceous ornamental-foliage plant of the Marantaceae family forming a dense compact clump, whose large leathery elongated leaves feature a dark green upper surface with a light V-shaped pattern and a solid rich blood-red underside, and due to pronounced photonasty, the blades rise vertically at night and lower horizontally during the day, while the short shoots develop from an underground rhizome, and the rare flowering consists of coral-red bracts with small white flowers.

Hardiness zone (USDA zone): 10–11.
Light: Bright, indirect light. Protect from harsh direct sunlight to prevent leaf burn.
Watering: Medium to high. Keep the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged. Do not allow the root ball to dry out completely.
Temperature: 65–80°F. Protect from cold drafts, sudden temperature drops, and heaters.
Humidity: High. Requires levels above 60%. Use a room humidifier or a pebble tray with water.
Soil: Well-draining, loose, peat-based potting mix mixed with perlite or orchid bark for excellent root aeration.
Fertilizer: Mild feeding. Apply a balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer diluted to half-strength once a month during the spring and summer.
