Nepenthes Albomarginata 'Kuching Spotted', Tropical Pitcher Plant

Ships in pot. Pot size 3.5".

Number and size of pitchers may vary.

After transportation: Please note that pitchers are drained for transportation. Please pour distilled water in each pitcher (approximately 1/4 - 1/3 of its volume). It happens you may receive a plant with dying or dead pitchers after shipping. It is a normal occurrence due to shipping stress and the plant may loose all its pitchers. Please just cut off dead pitchers/leaves - the plant will grow new leaves with new pitchers soon.

Nepenthes Albomarginata Kuching Spotted is a distinctive and rare tropical carnivorous vine featuring slender light green pitchers covered in prominent dark red spots. As the insect traps mature, they develop a unique velvety white collar band located right underneath the rim. This robust lowland pitcher plant cultivar adapts well to indoor environments and serves as an exceptional specimen for room collections and terrariums.

Soil: Requires a low-pH, nutrient-poor substrate. A combination of acidic peat moss and coarse perlite works well. Using any standard soil with an alkaline or neutral pH will destroy the root system.

Light: Needs medium to bright filtered sunlight. Avoid harsh midday sun exposure. Shaded greenhouse spots or bright eastern windows provide ideal lighting to avoid foliage burns.

Temperature: Best suited for USDA Zones 11-13. Ideal growth happens between 75-85F. Keep the plant protected from cold conditions dropping below 60F.

Watering: Substrate should remain evenly damp but never soggy. Irrigate exclusively with zero-mineral water like rainwater, distilled, or reverse osmosis water. Mineral buildup from tap water is lethal to this species.

Humidity: Thrives with ambient moisture levels above 60 percent. Utilizing an ultrasonic humidifier or placing a water tray nearby keeps the air suitably humid.

Fertilizer: Outdoor or open-air plants collect bugs independently. Never place human food inside the traps. For indoor feeding, place a small dried insect inside a few mature pitchers once a month.
